Welcome to Fiat Wealth Management: A Guide for New Clients

Whether you are just hearing about Fiat Wealth Management for the first time or have already said yes to partnering with us and are in the process of opening accounts, this blog is for you! We will walk you through the process of what it looks like to be a new client at Fiat.

First off, welcome to the Fiat Family! Our team is so excited to get to know you better and to provide you with guidance and support throughout your financial planning journey.

Once you’ve met with your advisor and have decided that you are ready to proceed with next steps, your advisor will introduce you to your dedicated Client Service Team who will guide you through the onboarding process. The Client Service Team will start off by sending you a link to your Data Collection form where you will be able to enter in all of your important information including who you want as beneficiaries, what bank account(s) you want to have linked with your accounts, etc. From there, Fiat will prepare and pre-fill the Charles Schwab account opening paperwork, as well as any account transfer paperwork, and send it to you for your review and completion. Account opening at Charles Schwab typically takes about 1-2 business days from the time paperwork is submitted. Any incoming transfers to Schwab will also be submitted at that time, though processing time for transfers varies greatly depending on the delivering firm. If you have a 401(k) Plan that will be rolling over to Schwab, our team will reach out to you to schedule a 20-30 minute phone call with the 401(k) Plan provider to get that in motion.

Once transfers to Schwab are complete, your advisor will reach back out to confirm allocations, discuss any recurring contributions or distributions that you would like to have set up, and answer any other questions you may have.

On an ongoing basis, advisors typically meet with their clients, either in person or Zoom, in May and November each year to review your personalized plan, discuss cash flow needs, and make appropriate updates as needed. These calendar invitations will come via email which allows you to select a date and time that fits best with your schedule. Of course, advisors and the rest of the Fiat team are also available throughout the year for any questions or more immediate requests that come up.

At Fiat, we host many client events throughout the year that we would love to see you at! Some are educational, while others are purely fun, social events! Friends, family, and anyone else in your inner circle are always welcome to attend as well. Stay up to date with upcoming events on our website at https://www.fiatwm.com/events.
