Where to Find Your Charles Schwab Tax Forms

As tax season approaches, one of the most common questions we receive is where to locate investment tax documents. If you hold accounts at Charles Schwab & Co. through Schwab Alliance, your tax forms are available online as soon as Schwab releases them.

Below is a simple, step-by-step guide to help you access your Schwab tax documents and understand what to expect during the process.

How to Access Your Schwab Tax Forms

Schwab makes tax documents available through Schwab Alliance, their secure online portal.

Step 1: Log in to Schwab Alliance
Visit https://client.schwab.com or download the Schwab mobile app on your device.

If you haven’t set up your Schwab login yet, select “New User?” on the login page. You’ll be prompted to enter:

  • One of your Schwab account numbers
  • Your date of birth
  • The phone number on file
  • Your Social Security number

If you need help locating an account number, our Client Service Team can assist.

Step 2: Navigate to Statements & Tax Forms
Once logged in, click the “Statements & Tax Forms” tab at the top of your screen.

Step 3: Select Tax Forms
From the document type menu, choose “Tax Forms” and click Search. Any tax forms that are currently available for your accounts will appear. You can open and download each document directly to your device.

If you already have an account but don’t remember your login ID or password, simply click “Forgot Login ID or Password?” on the Schwab login page to recover your information.

When Will My Tax Forms Be Available?

Schwab releases tax documents in multiple production runs throughout the tax season. This means not all forms are available at the same time, and some accounts may receive documents later than others.

In many cases, balances and account details shown in letters or statements are informational only and reflect values as of a specific date, which may change based on market activity.
